Facility History
Don Edwards Park is a five field baseball complex located in Newark, Ohio, built  originally as one field in 1963 by Don "Gramps" Edwards. The facility has served as the host of multiple leagues, tournaments and events through the years. As our community has grown the ballpark has grown to serve the needs of the youth of our area.

Our ballpark became the host site of the Babe Ruth World Series in August of 1977. The first game hosted for that series was between New Orleans, Louisiana and Arroyo Grande, California. Between the years of 1977 and 2010 we would be the host site of Babe Ruth World Series nine times. 

In the 1994 and 1995 season the ballpark served as the home park for a semi-professional team named the Newark Buffalos/Bison. It is currently home to the Ohio Bison which plays in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League and the Ohio Independent Collegiate League. In addition to that The Ohio Bison is a youth travel organization comprised teams in the age divisions 10U-18U. The name of the organization is a tribute to the history of not only our ballpark, but our great city!

 As we enter the new decade, and reflect back on our 50+ years of service to the community we realize that our impact goes beyond the borders of our county and reflects to the thousands of visitors we have had over the years. We are thankful to be a small part of the history of The Greatest Game on Earth, and every year we anxiously await the first signs of spring!
